New Environmental Focus
The Cabline group of companies during 2014 will be working on a variety of projects looking at how Cabline can reduce the impact on the environment for all of the business activities it engages in. The first step on this journey will be Cabline’s accreditation to ISO 14001 standards. Mark McFaul Cabline’s Operations Director commented:-
“I tasked the whole team at Cabline to look at how we could improve our environmental profile and look to reduce the impact our services have upon the environment where practical. I have been most impressed with the whole teams response and they have really embraced this new culture and philosophy and I am pleased to say it has resulted in us implementing the ISO 14001 principles and practices right across the business. We will be receiving our ISO 14001 audit in the coming few weeks and hopefully the hard work will result in the award of full certification to the standard.”
These environmental initiatives have already produced some great results. Louise Brassington Cabline’s Resources Manager elaborated...
“We decided to really embrace recycling at our head office and now everything from paper, cardboard and drinks cans are separated and sent for recycling. We looked very closely at paper usage because like most busy offices we did tend to get through a fair amount of paper and we have reduced significantly the overall usage with some simple but important measures such as converting to e-fax and other electronic documents and re-using non confidential documents as note paper etc. The remaining used paper gets collected and securely shredded by our environmental partner Shred-It. This has resulted in Cabline UK receiving a certification of accomplishment from Shred-It highlighting the significant recycling efforts made at Cabline’s head office.“
